It
is a supportive process where the worker and supervisor co-author better
outcomes for both clients and worker. It involves an ongoing discourse about the
strengths and positives of the therapist to enhance and better develop
them.
Supervision can help to develop fresh insights and understanding, better outcomes, realistic
awareness of work in progress, and insight into other possible outcomes.
It can involve training and development, consultation and discussion,
and planning career goals.
It is a two way conversation - that provides support, information, education and feedback, as well as
a forum for the worker to express feelings, doubts and ambivalence.
While working through difficulties, at all times it is an open conversation that acknowledges success,
positives, best possible outcomes, areas for further developement and potential for growth.
